

Frankie “Soul” Rodriguez has been playing music in the Northern California
area for 22 years. Frankie has appeared on stage opening shows for such noted
acts as Tower of Power, Elvin Bishop, Robin Trower, Lydia Pense & Cold Blood,
Canned Heat, Albert Collins, Bo Diddley, and many others. In the late 80's
Frankie and his partner,Tom Masi, formed "Masi & Soul" one of the premier
R&B horn bands in the Northern California area, playing in some of the finest
venues in Northern California and Nevada. As well as performing as headliners,
Masi & Soul served as the back-up band for many classic vocal acts, including
"The Fabulous Drifters", "The Shirelles", and "The Coasters".
In the early 90's Frankie formed his own band, the Blues Guitar based "Frankie
Soul & No Control", again performing in some of the finest venues in Northern
California and Nevada and opening for major acts. In the late 90's Frankie
rejoined the members of "Masi & Soul" under the name of "The Rhythm
Coalition", again becoming one of the premier R&B bands in the Northern
California Area. After recording the still unreleased Album, "I've Got The
Spirit" with The Rhythm Coalition, Frankie left the band for good and
continued performing with his band, "No Control", as he still does to this day.
In 2007 Frankie joined the horn-based R&B, Funk/Jazz band, "Aftershock",
featuring the immensely soulful and talented vocalist, Steve Hoff, along with
the current keyboardist, bass player, and drummer for No Control, Chris
Martinez, Pete Rose, and Rick Lawton, respectively. Frankie left Aftershock in
2009.
Along with Frankie Soul & No Control, Frankie performs with "Mojo & Soul"
an acoustic guitar duo with Jonny Mojo, one of the Northern California area's
most talented and sought-after guitarists, "A Lil Bit O Blues", an acoustic
ensemble with Eric Hill on harmonica, flute, Sax and vocals, and Jonny Mojo
on acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocals. Frankie also performs as a solo
guitarist/vocalist. Frankie also performs with the Classic Rock trio, "Frankie
Soul & The Localtones" with Pete Rose on bass guitar and Steve Evans on
drums. Whether performing with No Control, as a solo performer or in any
other ensemble, Frankie Soul delivers a show that guarantees to please!
